This year alone, the Fund will provide over 350 children with toys, clothing, and necessities at Christmas.
“It’s a labor of love, so it’s not a labor at all,” Susie says about her nearly three decades with the Fund. She and her co-chair, Sandy Joyce, spend months preparing for the holiday season, coordinating donations, organizing toy drives, and working closely with a network of enthusiastic “shopper-elves” who bring joy to Island children. The mission is deeply personal to Susie, who recognizes the struggles that many Vineyard families face, despite the Island’s reputation as a haven for the affluent.
