Discover Clothes To Go: A Community Gem on Martha's Vineyard

Nestled within the historic Stone Church in Vineyard Haven, Clothes To Go is a year-round outreach program dedicated to providing free, new, and gently used clothing. Founded in 2009 by the United Methodist Church of Martha’s Vineyard, this initiative serves an average of 60 visitors each week, reflecting the island’s strong sense of community and support.

A Welcoming Place for All

Run entirely by volunteers and supported through community donations, Clothes To Go is open to everyone without any eligibility requirements. This inclusive approach ensures that anyone can access clothing without the burden of proving their need. As Jennifer Fiore, a dedicated volunteer, emphasizes, the program aims to foster a sense of community and belonging, making it accessible to all parts of the island’s population (FirstStop Martha's Vineyard)(Recycle Smart) (The Martha's Vineyard Times).

Service Hours and Donation Information

Clothes To Go operates on the following schedule:

  • Mondays: Private shopping appointments (book online)
  • Wednesdays and Fridays: 10 AM - 12 PM
  • Saturdays: 11 AM - 1 PM

Donations of clean, gently used clothing are accepted during these hours. The inventory is always changing, so frequent visits are encouraged (FirstStop Martha's Vineyard) (Recycle Smart).

Celebrating 15 Years with a Fashion Show

In celebration of its 15th anniversary, Clothes To Go is hosting a special fashion show at the MVCMA Tabernacle in Oak Bluffs on Saturday, June 22nd, at 7 PM. This event not only marks a significant milestone for the program but also showcases the creativity and style that emerge from community-driven initiatives. It’s a wonderful opportunity for islanders and visitors alike to come together, celebrate, and support this invaluable program (GRACE CHURCH OF MARTHA'S VINEYARD).

Join the community in celebrating Clothes To Go’s 15 years of service and see firsthand how this program continues to make a positive impact on Martha’s Vineyard. For more information, visit the Clothes To Go website or contact Jennifer Fiore at [email protected].
